Duterte heading to Cebu for big thank you to Cebuanos who helped him in May 9 elections

  CEBU – Nine days before President-elect Rodrigo Duterte will take his oath as the country's leader, he will be personally thanking Cebuanos who have helped him in the May 9 elections. Duterte confirmed he will come on Saturday's Cebu version of the "One Love, One Nation" thanksgiving celebration, organizers said. During the 888 News Forum on Tuesday (June 21) in Cebu City, Doris Mongaya, one of the event organisers of the #CALL4Change group, said Duterte's staff called to confirm his presence on Saturday. Mongaya said that the event is open for media but there will be no interviews for members of the press covering the event. Saturday's celebration is divided into two parts. Mongaya said there will be a "Halad Pasalamat" at the Plaza Independencia at 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. which will give free medical and dental check up, legal consultation and notarisation, pampering services such as free haircut and foot massage, and motorcycle tune-up.
