India PM Narendra Modi's UAE trip: All you need to know

  ABU DHABI – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in the UAE on Saturday evening following a 4-nation trip that covers Jordan and Oman.  

Here's all you need to know about his visit.

What is the purpose of Modi's visit? He will have bilateral meetings with top UAE leaders and give a keynote address at the World Government Summit in Dubai on Sunday. How can the UAE and India benefit from the trip? The UAE and India are expected to sign 12 to 14 agreements and memoranda of understanding during Modi's visit. Who is he meeting? On Saturday evening, Modi will meet with His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. On Sunday, Modi is expected to meet His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Modi will also meet with Arab CEOs in Dubai. What will he be doing on the sidelines of this trip? In Abu Dhabi on Saturday evening, Modi will join a banquet hosted by Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed. On Sunday morning, he will meet with the Indian community in Dubai at the Dubai Opera. Which places will he visit? Modi is expected to visit Wahat Al Karama, the UAE martyrs’ memorial in Abu Dhabi on Sunday morning before leaving for Dubai. In Dubai, he will visit the Dubai Opera on Sunday morning where he is scheduled to participate in a ground-breaking ceremony of the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, which will be livestreamed.
