An Indian expatriate from Bahrain on transit in Abu Dhabi has won Dh10,000 after playing Dream Island’s Lucky 7 scratch card at the Abu Dhabi Airport. Initially, Jayaram Divakaran thought he had won just Dh10, but the sales agent told him that there were more zeroes on the card. "I was confused and excited at the same time...because I never won anything like this before," Divakaran said. The Bahrain-based mechanical engineer was flying with his family from Malaysia to Bahrain on May 5 when they had a short stopover at Abu Dhabi Airport. While on transit, he bought the scratch card for Dh50 and didn’t expect to win Dh10,000 on the spot. It was his second time to buy the card after a previous stopover in the UAE. Divakaran said he bought a scratch card while taking his son for a walk in Terminal 3 where he saw Dream Island's new kiosk. “ baby was crying and my wife told me to take him out for some time. I was passing by and then saw the shop so randomly bought a scratch card. Previously I bought a ticket but no luck, but this time luck was all mine,” he said. When asked what he will do with his winnings, he said he will use the prize money to settle “personal commitments”. He encourages people to "keep on trying their luck. One day it will work for you."
