An Indian electrician in the UAE is now Dh1 million richer after winning in the National Bonds draw, organisers announced on Tuesday (June 25). Nagendram Borugadda, 46, received his token cheque in a recent awarding ceremony. Borugadda said he has been saving Dh100 every month, qualifying him for the draw. The Indian electrician said that he will use the money he won to continue helping his family. “It’s truly overwhelming. I came to the UAE to build a better life for my family and provide a good education for my children,” Borugadda said. Borugadda, who hails from Gullapalli village in India, has lived in the UAE since 2017 and started saving with National Bonds since 2019. The amount of Dh100 is debited from his bank account directly as his National Bonds savings. He has been saving for the future of his children, an 18-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son. Winning the Dh1 million has been a big bonus for this hardworking family man. “This win feels surreal. National Bonds has given me a chance to finally secure their future and fulfil my long-held aspirations for their education,” he said. ICA/Expat Media
