Indian expat in Abu Dhabi wins $1 million Dubai Duty Free draw
An Indian expatriate in Abu Dhabi won $1 million in the latest Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw. The winning ticket was drawn by French tennis player Ugo Humbert after he won the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships Men’s final on Saturday (March 2). Sunil Nayyar, 60, became the latest multi-millionaire with ticket 0971, which he bought online on February 21. He is the 225th Indian to win the grand prize. Nayyar has been buying tickets to the draw for the last 15 years. He has been living in Abu Dhabi in the last 39 years and works as a senior consultant for an insurance company. “I've been buying tickets to your promotion for a long time and never lose hope that one day I will win, and finally it happened!” he said. The Delhi native said he will use part of his winnings to pay for his son’s education. “He is currently taking up his degree in aerospace in the UK and, of course, saving up for my retirement soon,” he said.
