Indian expat awarded for handing over Dh134,930 cash he found in public place

An Indian expatriate has been honoured by Dubai Police for handing over Dh134,930 in cash that he found in a public place. Upendra Nath Chaturvedi handed over the money to Al Raffa Police Station. Al Raffa Police Station Director, Colonel Omar Mohammed bin Hammad, praised Chaturvedi for his honesty. The officer also awarded the Chaturvedi with a certificate of appreciation. Chaturvedi said the honour from Dubai Police gave him “great pride and joy”. This is not the first time that Dubai residents have shown their honesty on various occasions. In July last year, Dubai taxi driver Nancy Orgo handed over a bag that contained Dh1 million that a passenger left behind in the taxi. In June, Indian expat Tariq Mahmood Khalid Mahmood turned over to police Dh1 million in cash that he found in the elevator of the building where he lived. ICA/Expat Media
