A Dubai-based Indian expat died along with four family members in the recent landslides in Kerala's Wayanad district. Sinan Abdul Nasar, 25, was in India for his brother's wedding when he  died in the landslide, alongside his father, two grandfathers, and a cousin, his brother Suhail Abdul Nasar confirmed. The landslides, triggered by heavy rainfall on July 30,  have been described as one of Kerala's worst natural disasters. The death toll has reached 392, with 150 people still missing. Rescue operations have been difficult due to damaged infrastructure, but over 1,300 personnel, including the National Disaster Response Force and local police, are involved in the efforts. Relief camps have been set up for the displaced, with at least 85 camps housing over 8,500 people. The Kerala government, along with various organisations and expatriate groups, is working to provide aid and support to the victims and their families. The disaster has prompted calls for it to be declared a national disaster, emphasising the need for extensive support and resources. Despite the challenging conditions, the community's response and the support from different groups are crucial in helping the affected people rebuild their lives.
