Indian fisherman missing after boat crash off UAE shore

  DUBAI - The search continues for an Indian fisherman who went missing after his boat collided with another boat off Kalba beach. Police said that Rahul Hosson, from the Indian state of West Bengal, fell overboard with five other sailors after their boat capsized following the crash on November 9. Five of those who fell into the water were rescued and taken to the hospital, while Hosson remained missing, police said. Police said they have coordinated with the coast guard for a search and rescue operation after receiving information about the incident on Thursday. “The police authorities have been making all efforts to trace him by helicopter sorties. Unfortunately the search has not been successful so far,” the Indian Consulate in Dubai posted on Twitter after consular officials met with Kalba Police on Wednesday.
