Indian tourists are now eligible to enter the Philippines without a visa for short visits, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced. The move took effect on Sunday (June 8) and aims to boost tourism between the two countries. Under the updated policy, Indian nationals may enter the Philippines visa-free for a non-extendible and non-convertible stay of 14 days—as long as they meet the following requirements: Passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay; confirmed hotel booking; proof of financial capability and return or onward ticket For Indian nationals holding valid and current American, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore, or UK (AJACSSUK) visas or residence permits, the visa-free stay extends to 30 days. The DFA emphasized that the visa-free entry is only applicable for tourism purposes. Visitors must have no derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration to be admitted. However, Indian nationals transiting through the Philippines or those entering for long-term stays and non-tourism purposes must still apply for the appropriate visa through a Philippine embassy or consulate. Eligible travelers may also apply for an e-Visa via evisa.gov.ph, although e-Visas are likewise non-convertible and non-extendable. CAM/Expat Media
