Authorities in Sharjah have launched an investigation after an Indian woman and her one-year-old daughter were found dead inside their apartment in the Al Nahda area on Tuesday (July 8). The woman, who worked in the HR department of a private company in Dubai, allegedly hanged her child before taking her own life, according to police. A forensic doctor who examined the scene confirmed the presence of neck marks consistent with hanging. Police identified the victims as Indian nationals living in the UAE. Sources said the woman had been living separately from her husband, a facilities engineer, due to ongoing marital issues. Family members raised concerns about possible emotional abuse related to dowry and pressure from her husband to agree to a divorce. They alleged that the woman had confided in her mother and a housemaid about her fears and emotional distress. Emergency services were alerted shortly after the incident and responded promptly. The bodies were taken to Al Qasimi Hospital before being transferred to the forensic laboratory for post-mortem examination. Al Buhairah Police confirmed that a full investigation is underway. The family is calling for a thorough probe into the incident, demanding justice for the victims. ICA/Expat Media
