Indian woman gives birth at Dubai airport, UAE policewoman saves baby

DUBAI – An Indian woman recently gave birth at Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport, thanks to a quick thinking policewoman who dashed to help her through labour. Emirati corporal Hanan Hussain Mohammed, an inspector at the Dubai airport, rushed the woman to the airport’s inspection room and helped the Indian woman deliver the baby there. The baby, however, wasn’t breathing when it was born, so Mohammed performed CPR on the newborn until it was able to breathe on its own. The mother and her baby were then taken to Latifa hospital for further treatment. For her heroic act, Mohammed was honored by the Dubai Police. Brigadier Ali Atiq Bin Lahej, director of the General Department of Airport Security at Dubai Police, praised the policewoman for her “incredible act and humanitarian as well as professional approach that saved the woman and her baby”.
