Firefighters and police are investigating the cause of a major fire that broke out on Friday evening (August 8) at a clothing warehouse in Sharjah’s second Free Zone in Hamriyah. Teams from Sharjah Police General Command and Sharjah Civil Defense Authority responded swiftly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighbouring facilities. “No casualties were reported,” authorities confirmed. “The teams initiated their tasks without delay and are working to complete cooling operations to allow a full investigation.” The fire is the latest in a string of warehouse incidents in Sharjah. On August 1, a fire broke out at a used auto parts warehouse in Industrial Area 10. In July, fire also hit an electrical appliances warehouse in Industrial Area 5. In all cases, Civil Defense teams evacuated nearby workers and vehicles, established safety perimeters, and brought the fires under control without injuries. ICA/Expat Media
