Dubai once again takes centre stage in global entertainment as Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War releases on Prime Video. The feature-length film that showcases some of the emirate’s most recognisable landmarks while expanding the franchise’s geopolitical spy universe. The film premiered globally on Wednesday (May 21) on Prime Video and is streaming exclusively on the platform. It reunites John Krasinski with Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly, continuing the story of former CIA analyst Jack Ryan in a standalone format. A significant portion of the production was filmed in Dubai through a collaboration with the Dubai Media Council and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), alongside oversight from the Dubai Film Development Committee. The project forms part of broader efforts led by DET to position Dubai as a global hub for creative production and film tourism. Scenes featured in the trailer highlight several of the city’s most recognisable locations, including the Gate Avenue district in DIFC, Dubai Frame, the Downtown Dubai skyline with Burj Khalifa, Burj Park,  Jumeirah with the Burj Al Arab in the background, Emirates Towers, Dubai Creek and action sequences set along Dubai Marina involving abras and dhows. The film follows Jack Ryan as he attempts to step away from the CIA and build a quieter life working in the private sector. However, a seemingly routine encounter during a business trip to Dubai quickly escalates after a contact is killed nearby, pulling Ryan back into a web of international intrigue involving former colleagues and intelligence operatives.
