  Instagram has revealed the top five most-tagged cities on its highly-popular Instagram Stories feature and it led by an Asian city – Jakarta.
The announcement came as the photo app marked the first anniversary of the 24-hour image tool last Aug. 2. Sao Paulo followed the Indonesian capital and New York City was third. London and Madrid are the fourth and fifth most-tagged cities on Instagram Stories. CNN said Jakarta being the most-tagged city on Instagram Stories is due to its distinction as a "foodie paradise" and it is also known for its nightlife and architecture. Tech Wire Asia said Indonesia is the largest market for Instagram in the Asia Pacific region with 45 million subscribers who use the story feature twice as much as the average user. According to a press release by Instagram, "Stories has helped increase the amount of time people spend on Instagram. Those under the age of 25 spend more than 32 minutes a day on Instagram, on average, while those age 25 and older spend more than 24 minutes a day." "From stickers to Boomerang, we have rolled out more than 20 new features within Instagram Stories over the past year, making it even easier to add creativity to any photo or video and instantly share it," Instagram also said. Instagram shared "a breakdown of some of the trends they've seen on Instagram Stories around the world." The photo app said "in the last month, over 50 percent of businesses on Instagram produced an Instagram Story" and "one in five organic stories from businesses gets a direct message." Meanwhile, Instagram said the top hashtags on Stories are: #GOODMORNING, #WORK, #GOODNIGHT, #MOOD, #HAPPYBIRTHDAY, #TBT, #LOVE, #HOME, #BOMDIA (hello or good day in Portuguese) and #RELAX. The most popular stickers are: Vibrant Location, Digital time, "Like", Hashtag and Weather. Instagram said it has rolled out birthday and celebration stickers in Stories "to give our community more ways to celebrate any milestone with friends and family."
