The UAE’s Filipino community is gearing up for what organisers promise will be the biggest Independence Day celebration of the year. Kalayaan 2026 will take place on June 7 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together thousands of Filipinos from across the Emirates to mark Philippine Independence Day. Organisers Infinite Communities described this year’s event with one bold line: “One community. One celebration. One massive party.” In a statement, the group said: “Get ready for the biggest Filipino event of the year as we celebrate freedom, culture, and togetherness at Dubai World Trade Centre on June 7 (Sunday)! Expect electrifying performances, cultural pride, nonstop entertainment, and unforgettable moments with kababayans from all over the UAE. Gather your family, bring your friends, and be part of a celebration that’s bigger, louder, and more exciting than ever. Kalayaan 2026 is coming!” The annual event traditionally features live performances from Filipino artists, cultural showcases, community booths, food stalls and family-friendly activities. It has become a highlight of the Filipino social calendar in the UAE, drawing residents from across the emirates. Philippine Independence Day is officially observed every June 12, commemorating the country’s declaration of independence in 1898. In the UAE, large-scale celebrations are typically held on the nearest weekend to allow more families to attend. With its promise of bigger production numbers and a festival-style atmosphere, Kalayaan 2026 is expected to once again transform the venue into a sea of red, blue and yellow. More event details, including performers and ticket information, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
