The Philippines might be celebrating Independence Day on June 12, but Filipinos in the UAE are getting a head start! Mark your calendars for June 1, Sunday—because Kalayaan 2025 is taking over Dubai World Trade Centre (Halls 1 and 2) from 8am to 8pm, and admission is absolutely free! At the recent Kalayaan 2025 kickoff party, organizer Infinite Communities promised an exciting Philippine Independence Day celebration, which is expected to draw thousands of Filipinos in the UAE for a day-long celebration of Filipino culture. The event is co-presented by Emirates Loves Philippines. Here are 9 exciting reasons why you should be there (and bring the whole barangay, too!):

1. Filipino stars are coming

Julia Barretto, MJ Cayabyab and Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 celebrities Kai Montinola and Jarren Garcia will be flying in to join the party and give special performances. Fans are in for an exciting time as they take the stage in a grand finale!

2. It’s one big Pinoy party—for free!

Where else can you enjoy a full day of music, culture, food, and prizes without spending a single dirham on tickets? The Kalayaan 2025 celebration is a 12-hour fiesta of Filipino pride featuring stage shows, booths, games, and lots of surprises—all for free. Doors open at 8am, so make sure to come early and enjoy the whole day!

3. Non-stop entertainment with Filipino flair

Get ready for a show that won’t stop until sundown. From cultural dances to beat-pumping live shows, the event will highlight Filipino talents across the UAE, making you laugh, sing, cheer, and maybe even cry a little with pride. Plus, your favorite UAE-based Filipino influencers are going to sashay on stage for a cool fashion show!

4. Booths, games, and prizes galore

It’s not a Filipino party without giveaways, right? Expect tons of freebies and gifts from sponsors, including the Dubai Police, food brands, and other community partners. Visit the booths, join the games, and you might walk away with a new smartphone, gadgets, food hampers, or even surprise cash prizes! You can also join the search for the coolest bicycle in the UAE!

5. Filipino food heaven

Craving sisig or halo-halo? The food bazaar is every Pinoy foodie’s dream. With beloved brands like Dencio’s, Agemono Express, Chinese Star, Max’s Restaurant, Meryenda, Espressoz, and many more, you’ll want to come hungry and bring your foodie friends!

6. Drum and Lyre performances

The colorful drum and lyre corps of The Philippine School will be back! Expect baton twirling, snappy drum rolls, and vibrant marching that’ll fill the halls with festive energy. It’s a throwback to school field days—and this year’s show promises to be louder and prouder.

7. Dance performances from tradition to TikTok

From traditional folk dances to modern hip-hop routines, expect to see the best of Filipino dance on stage. The UFCAs cultural troupe will also perform, bringing traditional grace and flair to the Kalayaan stage. Bring your cameras—these performances are definitely Instagram-worthy!

8. Learning, upskilling, and discounts

It’s not just a party—it’s a chance to level up. Check out the Learning Zone, where booths by Future Zone, Filipino Academy, The Philippine School, and more will offer free courses, discounts, and enrollment promos. Whether you want to study, get certified, or explore new careers, you’ll find resources here.

9. Inspiration and opportunities

Dreaming of starting a business or buying your first home? The Philippine Business Council Dubai and real estate developers like DMCI Homes will be there to give advice, opportunities, and investment tips. Take the first step toward becoming your own boss or investing in your future.
