The Kanoo Group, a staunch supporter of charity initiatives, recently backed the Year of Zayed’s gift giving initiative by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), which aims to bring joy through toys to underprivileged children around the world, and to teach the UAE youth the value of giving. The "From UAE with Love" initiative was launched at City Centre Mirdif from March 17 to 19 with an objective to collect toys placed inside a gift box that can be customised with stickers and notes from giver. Organised by Expat Media on behalf of MOHRE, the event saw parents and children and other donors drop off purchased gift sets as well as used toys to fill in the customised giant box. The toys will be sent to indigent children in Syria through the UAE Red Crescent. “This gift giving initiative inspires new means to spread the spirit of philanthropy while making donations easy and accessible,” said Maha Kanoo, General Manager-Admin, HR, and Marketing of The Kanoo Group. “We are thrilled to play our part to distribute these much-needed gifts to the underprivileged children and brighten up their spirits. This is just one of the great ways of how we can support our communities,” she added. Apart from the gift giving, participants and spectators were thrilled and excited with the planned activities during the event such as fun face paintings and mascots for children to enjoy. “The response to this gift-giving initiative led by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has been overwhelming. Thousands of people from the UAE, young and old, have come forward to give their small gesture of support to the less privileged,” Ma Felicidad De los Santos of Expat Media remarked.
