Kathryn Bernardo’s childhood crush has finally been revealed—and it appears that the feeling was mutual. After fans and the media launched a search for “Kenneth,” the name mentioned by Bernardo on the April 6 episode of Pilipinas Got Talent, all signs pointed to Dr. Kenneth Hizon, a physician based in Cabanatuan City and a former classmate of the actress. “I was probably in Grade 2 in our province,” Bernardo shared on air. “He was fair-skinned… When I have a crush, I don’t talk to them at all. Even if you try to make me admit it, I never will. His name was Kenneth,” she said in Filipino.

'She was also my first crush'

In a heartwarming twist, Hizon confirmed that he also had feelings for the young Kathryn back when they were classmates at Flowerlane Montessori Children’s House in Cabanatuan. “To be honest, she was also my first crush,” he said in Filipino during an interview aired on Frontline Pilipinas Weekend on April 12. “I remembered her as someone bright. You immediately think of her as a bright kid. Of course, she is beautiful,” Hizon added. Though unsure at first if he was the Kenneth in question, Hizon said the attention from fans caught him off guard. “Of course, I wasn’t the only Kenneth that Kathryn interacted with in Flowerlane. But when I recalled it, I thought, maybe it was me,” he explained. “It makes me happy because imagine, I was the crush of Kathryn Bernardo. I was just overwhelmed at first. But so far, all good.” Despite the viral moment, Dr. Hizon insists he has no plans to use Bernardo’s name for publicity. “I will not use Kathryn to be famous because we knew each other when we were kids,” he said. “Hello, Kath. I’m hoping to meet you, and if your busy time will allow us, I’m hoping to catch with you.” The charming doctor, who studied medicine at Far Eastern University, is currently single. As of this writing, Kathryn Bernardo has not yet responded publicly to the revelation. Meanwhile, fans online continue to swoon over the sweet coincidence, with many hoping for a wholesome reunion between the two childhood friends.
