"Asian Persuasion," the romantic comedy starring KC Concepcion and Dante Basco, is set to hit UAE cinemas on Thursday (October 17). Directed by award-winning Filipino filmmaker Jhett Tolentino, the film marks Concepcion’s Hollywood debut and promises to be one of the most romantic romcoms of the year. During a media preview in Dubai, Tolentino shared his excitement about the project, which he described as his first foray into independent Hollywood cinema. The film has already gained international attention after winning the Audience Award at the SOHO International Film Festival in New York City. Concepcion stars alongside Basco, best known for his role as Rufio in the 1991 classic "Hook." The movie also features cameo appearances from Apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas and Filipino singer Rachel Alejandro. Tolentino, who is based in New York, said the film represents the talents of over 21 Asian countries and involved a crew of more than 400 people. "It was a labor of love," he said, "and I’m proud to showcase the richness of Asian talent." Filipino fans in the UAE can catch "Asian Persuasion" at major cinema chains across the country.
