Key Sharjah-Dubai road closed until April 15

DUBAI - A main road from Sharjah to Dubai will be closed for three weeks beginning on Sunday (March 25), the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced. The Industrial Area 3 road will reopen on April 16 after maintenance work is expected to be completed.

The Industrial Area 3 road will be closed until April 15.

Part of renovation works on the key road include adding new asphalt. Road works are expected to affect motorists travelling towards the Sharjah Ring Road, the Sharjah RTA said. The transport authority advised motorists to use alternative roads, such as the the second industrial street and the fourth industrial street. According to the Sharjah RTA, more roadworks have been initiated to improve the Dubai-Sharjah traffic flow. One such projects is the Badee Bridge, which is being built on Emirates Road at a cost of Dh200 million. The bridge, located between Emirates Road and Maleha Highway, is expected to be open to traffic in August. The government is also looking into improving Al Ittihad Road, Mohammed Bin Zayed and Emirates roads.
