The daughter of Filipino television host Kim “Kuya Kim” Atienza has died at the age of 19 in Los Angeles, California, her family confirmed on Friday (October 24). Emmanuelle “Emman” Atienza, known for her outspoken advocacy on mental health and body positivity, was found dead at her home, according to reports from the Los Angeles County authorities. Records indicate the cause of death was ligature hanging. In a heartbreaking statement posted online, the Atienza family confirmed her passing: “It’s with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our daughter and sister, Emman. She brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our lives and into the lives of everyone who knew her. Emman had a way of making people feel seen and heard, and she wasn’t afraid to share her own journey with mental health. Her authenticity helped so many feel less alone.” The message, signed by Kim, Feli, Jose, and Eliana Atienza, urged the public to honor Emman’s legacy “by living with more compassion and kindness.” The family has yet to announce details of her wake.

Friends and fans remember her as “fierce, funny, and full of light.” Emman was the daughter of Kuya Kim, a beloved TV personality known for his work on TV Patrol and Matanglawin, and Felicia Hung-Atienza, president of the Philippine Eagle Foundation. She was also the granddaughter of former Manila mayor Lito Atienza, part of a family deeply rooted in Philippine public service.
