Is Kinder bad for your health? Here's what the Dubai Food Safety Department says

  DUBAI – The Food Safety Department at Dubai Municipality has spoken out regarding reports that circulated on social media about the alleged health hazards of Kinder chocolates products. In a statement on Monday (July 11), the Food Safety Department said that Kinder chocolate products are free from carcinogens or cancer-causing substances in food. Specialists tested Kinder chocolate products and “the result was that they are in compliance with the specifications and they have been released naturally in local markets in the country". The department also dismissed reports that said Kinder chocolate products were being withdrawn from markets because they contained mineral oils that might cause cancer. The Food Safety Department said there was no warning from the Rapid Alert System of the Food and Feed Safety of the European Union, or the GCC Rapid Alert System regarding Kinder, or any request to withdraw the products from the market. It also said that the Saudi Food and Drug Authority received confirmation from the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment in Germany that there was no health warning or request to pull Kinder products off market shelves.
