Korina says Mar ‘best man of them all’ despite conceding defeat in Philippine presidential race

MANILA – Mar Roxas bowed out of the race for the Philippine presidency on Tuesday, but despite the defeat he is still the star, his wife Korina Sanchez posted on social media. Roxas conceded defeat to leading presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday. He was trailing behind the Davao City mayor by nearly six million votes. In a speech in Quezon City on Tuesday, he thanked supporters, including Sanchez. He also wished Duterte success. Sanchez, in an Instagram post, said she had always known Roxas to be a good man but that during the campaign period she realised that he is “the best man of them all”. The TV personality took a break from her job as news anchor in Philippine TV network ABS-CBN throughout the election period. “A reporter asked me: ‘What did you discover about your husband in this campaign that you never knew before?’ I answered, ‘I always knew my husband is a good man. Only now in this campaign did I realize that he is the best man of them all,” she said in her Instagram post.
