The Queen of All Media Kris Aquino revealed she will undergo a six-month preventive isolation after her doctors advised a new round of aggressive treatment that will completely wipe out her immunity. In an emotional Instagram post on Monday (August 11), Aquino shared that she spent almost two months in a private beach property, gifted by a generous family, to help her regain her strength and deepen her faith. There, she made the decision to prepare for an upcoming six- to eight-hour infusion of one of the strongest immunosuppressants, paired with two other powerful medications — one taken daily and one administered via injection. “Trust me, it’s difficult to accept every night when I sleep that there may be no tomorrow for me,” she wrote, laying bare the gravity of her condition.

A retreat to Tarlac

Aquino said she will move to her family compound in Tarlac, affectionately called “Alto” by her Cojuangco cousins, to spend the next six months in isolation as her body undergoes the intense medical regimen. While she has chosen to stay low-profile on social media, she explained that it was deliberate: “If I told you what was happening, some of you may stop praying because my autoimmune diseases were increasing in number and my life-threatening ailments needed me to make a brave choice.” The 54-year-old actress-host has now been diagnosed with 11 autoimmune diseases, and although she did not specify the new ones, she stressed that her health challenges are far from over. Kris opened up about how her illness has impacted her two sons. Her eldest, Josh — whom she calls “Kuya” — has been deeply affected by her frailty. “Since the deaths of his Lola Cory, Lola P, and Tito Noy, seeing me frail, weak, often attached to my IV drip, kuya is traumatized, visibly shaking, repeating ‘Mama get well, I love you.’ For now, he’s living with my genuinely super loving cousin.” Her youngest, Bimby, now 18, has become her constant caregiver. “He is heaven’s gift, my optimistic adult who reminds me I should never surrender,” she said. “After a few more scheduled tests and treatments, and my recuperation — Bimb and I are ready to reveal all and show you everything for the first time.”

A plea for prayers

Aquino expressed heartfelt thanks to the teams at Makati Medical Center and St. Luke’s BGC, along with her doctors, nurses, and medical technicians, for their tireless dedication. She ended her post with a direct appeal: “Please continue praying, kailangan na kailangan ko.” The post quickly filled with messages of support from celebrities and fans alike. Aga Muhlach, Arnold Clavio, and her impersonator Krissy Achino were among those who commented. Netizens also shared heartfelt words. Gianne Carlos wrote: “I only prayed for one showbiz personality in my entire life and that is YOU, Kris. TV is never the same without you. Still hoping that one day I can watch you live on TV. Prayers sent!” Kris Amethyst said, echoing the sentiments of many fans: “Please take your time because you are always worth the wait… Us, your prayer warriors, will never stop praying for you.
