Virginia, more popularly known as Ginia, the longtime nanny of Dubai-based radio personality Kris Fade, has gained her own fan following after appearing in several of his viral social media videos. Recently, Ginia shared how her newfound fame has led to people recognizing her on the streets, both in the UAE and even in her home country, the Philippines. In a video posted by Fade, Ginia humorously expressed her surprise at being stopped by strangers for photos. "I loved my privacy before when no one knew me," she said, smiling shyly. Fade asked her whether she wanted to continue appearing in his videos, to which she bashfully replied after giving it some thought, "Yes. Everyone wants to be famous!"Fade, who has spoken fondly of his soft spot for Filipinos in a previous Expat Media interview, has featured Ginia in multiple videos, showcasing her everyday life and humorous moments. One of the most popular videos featured Ginia harvesting malunggay leaves (moringa) from a neighbor’s garden, which resonated with many Filipino viewers. The video went viral, with netizens commenting that they could relate to her love for malunggay, which is commonly used in Filipino soups. Ginia has been with Fade's family for over 13 years, helping him raise his two daughters and now his son. Her recent trip to Iloilo in the Philippines, where she brought back traditional foods such as bananas and cooked crab, also became a hot topic on social media. "She’s more than just a nanny—she’s part of the family," said Fade. Ginia's Instagram account @giniananny, launched last June, currently has nearly 5,000 followers. As her popularity continues to grow, it seems Ginia is embracing her new celebrity status. And with Fade’s large following, Ginia is likely to remain in the spotlight for some time to come.
