Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has arrested a gang of 33 Filipino counterfeiters who created fake documents for the Filipino community in the country. The Filipino gang was reportedly creating fake study certificates, fake marriage contracts and fake driving permits. They are expected to face legal action. According to the ministry, the arrests were carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine Embassy. The crackdown came on orders of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Khaled Al Ahmad Al Sabah to clamp down on violators of Kuwait’s laws. Earlier this year, Kuwait imposed a ban on issuing new visas to Filipinos. ICA/Expat Media
