Kuwait stunned residents after authorities ordered Christmas decorations to be pulled out from all shops in the city. The decision by the Kuwait Municipality brought an unexpected stop to festive preparations in the city where stores were already adorned with Christmas decorations. There has been no official statement explaining the recent decision that effectively banned Christmas displays in the country. Last year, management of a mall removed a huge Christmas tree inside its premises after citizens complained to the municipality that it goes against Kuwait’s customs and traditions. ICA/Expat Media
