Boston team gives up three players in exchange

  BOSTON - All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers got his wish to be traded to another team. Irving had been sent to the Boston Celtics and in exchange, the Massachusetts team will give up three players – point guard Isaiah Thomas, forward Jae Crowder and center Ante Zizic – as well the Brooklyn Net's 2018 unprotected first-round pick. Ainge said Thomas' hip injury was a factor in sending him to the Cavaliers. Thomas' hip injury, for which he opted not to have surgery, had prevented him from playing in the last three games of the Eastern Conference.
