Sharjah’s largest mosque opens to public
SHARJAH – The emirate's largest mosque is now officially open to the public, after the Sharjah Ruler ordered its construction in 2014.
The Sharjah Mosque—located in Al Tay at the intersection of Emirates Road and Maliha Road—covers an area of 186,000 square metres and can accommodate up to 25,000 people.
Non-Muslims are welcome to visit the mosque, which was inaugurated by His Highness Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, on Friday (May 10).

The Ottoman-style mosque features a main indoor hall that can accommodate more than 5,000 people. It also has a dedicated female pavilion for more than 600 people.

The mosque has a rubberized walking path around it, as well as a souvenir shop, museum and fountains. It also has gardens with dedicated spaces and pathways.
The mosque is also home to a large library that has many original Islamic works. It’s collection hall houses books and antiques from different Islamic eras.

Parking will not be an issue here as the mosque has more than 2,000 parking spaces.
Construction of the Dh300-million Sharjah Mosque began in 2014.
