The world-renowned Dubai Fountain will stage its final performance on April 19 before temporarily closing for a five-month renovation, master developer Emaar has announced. The upgrade, set to begin in May, aims to elevate the experience of one of Dubai’s most iconic attractions. The renovation will introduce cutting-edge technology, enhanced choreography, and an improved sound and lighting system to ensure a more immersive experience for visitors. The Dubai Fountain, located at the base of Burj Khalifa and adjacent to The Dubai Mall, is the world's largest choreographed fountain system and has captivated millions since its opening in 2009. “For years, the Dubai Fountain has been the heartbeat of Downtown Dubai, captivating millions of visitors with its synchronized water, music, and light performances,” according to Emaar in a statement. “As a symbol of celebration and artistry, it has created unforgettable moments that have been applauded by audiences from all over the world.” Mohamed Alabbar, Founder of Emaar, emphasized the cultural and artistic significance of the fountain. “Dubai Fountain is more than a spectacle—it is a reflection of Dubai’s soul, where art, innovation, and emotion come together in perfect harmony. As we elevate this iconic landmark, we continue to create experiences that connect people, inspire wonder, and stand the test of time.” Despite the temporary closure of the fountain, attractions in Downtown Dubai, including The Dubai Mall and its world-class shopping and dining experiences, will remain open. Visitors can still enjoy breathtaking views of the Burj Khalifa and other entertainment offerings in the area.
