Camping, barbecuing, dog walking banned in Al Qudra Lake

  DUBAI – New signboards have been put up around Al Qudra Lake to alert visitors that camping, barbecuing and dog walking are now banned in the area. The Dubai Municipality also said that a Dh500 fine will be given to anyone caught littering the area or creating bonfires. The municipality said legal action will be taken against anyone caught doing any of activities it has banned in efforts to protect wildlife in the natural reserve. These activities include hunting or killing wildlife, bonfires, camping, dog walking, swimming, fishing, cutting or removing plants, entry of vehicles, or motorcycles, barbecuing and cooking and feeding the animals. The Al Qudra Lake reserve is home to hundreds of species of birds and dozens of animals and flora. The area stretches 361.95 hectares and is classified as a national park under the International Union for Conservation of Nature Protected Area Category.
