In the Philippines, a “super fan” of Liam Payne recently made headlines after holding a wake for the late singer, while fan groups across the country are organizing memorials in his honor. The photos of a Filipina fan seated beside a poster of Payne, accompanied by a white casket and funeral flowers, quickly went viral. The fan, who remains unidentified, wrote on social media, "My Directioner heart is grieving”, adding in Filipino that she organized the wake because she wouldn’t be able to attend the real wake. Although her act sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising her dedication and others calling it over the top, it highlighted the deep connection many fans feel for Payne. Meanwhile, the Liam Payne Philippines fan group is organizing a public memorial in Cebu City at Ayala Central Block in IT Park on October 27. The group is inviting fans to wear black, bring flowers, LED candles, and any Liam Payne memorabilia. "Join us in honoring the memory of Liam James Payne," the group posted on social media. Similar events are being planned in Pampanga and Davao, where fans will gather to celebrate the life of the beloved singer. Payne tragically died after a fall from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16.
