Residents across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and other parts of the UAE woke up to light rain on Tuesday (March 11), with more showers expected throughout the week, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The first drops of rain were recorded just after midnight in several areas. At 12:15am, light rain fell over Ghantout in Abu Dhabi, followed by showers in Ghalilah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Dalma Island at 1am. In Dubai, residents in Al Aweer, Palm Jumeirah, and Deira experienced light rain at around 5am. Showers were also reported in Al Dhaid in Sharjah, Al Smeeh in Abu Dhabi, and Ghantout during the early hours of the morning. Light rainfall also spread to Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah, with the NCM confirming that intermittent showers would continue until at least Thursday (March 13).

More rain expected this week

According to the NCM weather forecast, unstable weather conditions will persist in the coming days, bringing scattered rain, cloud cover, and fresh winds. On Wednesday (March 12), partly cloudy to cloudy conditions will prevail, with light to moderate rainfall expected in coastal and northern areas. Winds will blow at 10-25 km/h, reaching up to 40 km/h, causing blowing dust in some areas. On Thursday (March 13), light rain will continue during the daytime, with gradual cooling in temperatures. By Friday and Saturday (March 14 to 15), the weather is expected to clear up, though humidity levels will rise at night, leading to a chance of fog or mist formation over coastal and internal areas. Authorities have advised motorists to drive cautiously as wet roads and strong winds may reduce visibility in some areas.
