Louvre Abu Dhabi has announced an open call for proposals for the sixth edition of Art Here, alongside the prestigious Richard Mille Art Prize, offering a top award of $60,000. The call is open until May 31, with artists invited to submit proposals through the museum’s official website. The 2026 edition expands participation to include India, alongside artists from the GCC, reflecting the longstanding cultural ties between the UAE and India. This year’s theme, “Confluences,” explores how cultures, histories, and environments intersect and influence one another in today’s world. Artists are encouraged to interpret how these encounters shape identity, creativity, and shared human experiences. Participants are invited to design large-scale, site-specific artworks that will be installed in the outdoor spaces beneath the museum’s iconic dome. The exhibition route will begin near the Damascene fountain and extend through a passageway leading to a shallow reflective pool and the public art wall installation by Jenny Holzer. Launched in 2021, Art Here has become a platform for emerging and established artists across the region, highlighting contemporary creativity while encouraging cross-cultural dialogue. An international jury will review submissions and select shortlisted artists whose works will be commissioned for exhibition in November 2026. One artist will be awarded the Richard Mille Art Prize in December 2026, recognising outstanding contemporary artistic achievement and supporting the region’s growing art scene. ICA/Expat Media
