Maersk launches first Integrated Logistics Centre in Jafza

Maersk Kanoo UAE, a container logistics integrator, opened its first Integrated Logistics Centre in Dubai, UAE, on Thursday (March 17) at DP World's major trade and logistics center, Jafza. Multiple parties in the region have traditionally shared ocean shipping and inbound logistics and distribution, creating complex logistical requirements. With the opening of the new Integrated Logistics Centre in Dubai, Maersk is taking a big step toward providing a truly integrated solution for its customers, where they will have a single point of contact for all their logistics needs, not just for goods flowing in and out of the UAE, but also for goods flowing in and out of other Middle Eastern countries that use Dubai as a gateway to global trade. Decarbonizing logistics and services Maersk is dedicated to decarbonizing logistics and services. The facility will have solar panels installed on its rooftop to meet all of the facility's electrical needs. This installation's 434 MWh/year of clean energy generation will reduce more than 1,700 tonnes of carbon emissions over the course of ten years, which is equivalent to planting over 70,000 tree seedlings. “At A.P.
