Major roads in Dubai will be closed for the Dubai Marathon on January 7, with parts of Umm Suqeim Street and Jumeirah Beach Road to be affected. The Dubai Marathon will have a 42.195km category for professional runners, as well as a 10km run for amateurs and a 4km route for beginners. The professional run will start near Madinat Jumeirah, turning left toward Al Sufouh and then passing through Dubai College Junction, heading toward the Palm Island entrance. Runners will also pass through the Dubai Media City entrance and in front of the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina before returning to Al Sufouh area where they will pass through Madinat Jumeirah and head to Jumeirah Beach Road and into Umm Suqeim Road where they will finish before the Dubai Police Academy.
