Man, 73, wins Dh1 million in Dubai

DUBAI – A 73-year-old Malaysian expatriate became the latest millionaire in the UAE after winning Dh1 million in Dubai. Prabhakaran N. S. Nair won the top prize of Dubai Duty Free's Millennium Millionaire Promotion. Nair has reportedly been regularly buying raffle tickets for Dubai's longest running draw. He finally hit the jackpot on Tuesday and is the second Malaysian to have won $1 million since the draw's inception in 1999. “I’m very happy to hear such a fantastic news, and this is such a great Diwali present that I would never forget.” Nair said. Other winners in the draw include Mulla Gous Mohidin and Mohammed Shabeer, 29, who won a BMW S 1000 RR motorcycle. Shabeer, a technical engineer in Dubai, said his winning ticket was the first he ever bought from Dubai Duty Free.
