Step up your cardio game—inside Mall of the Emirates. If the idea of running in the Dubai summer heat sounds… well, sweaty—don’t worry. Dubai’s coolest fitness trend is back this August, and it’s all happening inside your favorite malls. On Sunday (August 3) at 6am, the Mall of the Emirates Run 2025 kicks off in style—complete with AC, clean tracks, and hundreds of like-minded runners. It’s part of the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) season and the bigger Dubai Mallathon, a month-long indoor fitness initiative. The fastest runners will get cash and other prizes. Hosted by Dubai Sports Council and Peloton Events, the race has already reached full capacity—but that doesn’t mean you can’t show up and cheer or take part in the many other mallathon routes running all month long. What’s the Dubai Mallathon? Launched by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai Mallathon transforms nine major malls into indoor running and walking tracks from August 1 to 31. Malls open early (7am–10am daily), giving everyone from families to fitness buffs a cool place to get active. Participating malls include: • Dubai Mall • Mall of the Emirates • Dubai Hills Mall • City Centre Deira • City Centre Mirdif • Dubai Marina Mall • Dubai Festival City Mall • Festival Plaza • The Springs Souk “Every step you take moves us closer towards a healthier Dubai,” said Sheikh Hamdan. “We want everyone in Dubai to feel they can stay active and energised in welcoming spaces built with their needs in mind.” Upcoming races to watch out for If you missed the Mall of the Emirates run, don’t sweat it—there are more races this month: • City Centre Mirdif: August 9 at 7am • Dubai Marina Mall: August 10 at 7am • City Centre Deira: August 23 at 7am • The Springs Souk: August 9 at 7am Besides the joy of walking or jogging in a mall (yes, there’s something satisfying about doing laps past Zara), registered participants get guided warm-ups and cool-downs and access to health and wellness booths and kid-friendly activity zones. Registration is free at dubaimallathon.ae—and yes, you get a digital participation card to flash your fit status. So... ready to mall-walk your way to fitness? Whether you’re an early riser chasing your step count, a family looking for fun, or just someone who loves any excuse to go to the mall—Dubai Mallathon has something for you. This August, fitness is indoors, cool, and totally Insta-worthy.
