Man arrested for setting a luxury apartment on fire

Dubai Police arrested a man for vandalizing a luxury apartment in Dubai. Several videos were posted to his social media account in which he was seen burning portions of the room and setting fire to the furnishings. The suspect had placed a sticker on the fire alarm, leaving the safety devices inoperable. The executive partner of the Palazzo Versace Hotel, Monther Darwish, said that the incident was not the first time. Darwish stated that he had taken several precautions to stop the incident. The establishment had filed 11 reports on the incident, which had the offender detained twice. After each time, the offender returns and continues to vandalize the apartment. Darwish further stated that a year ago, the suspect approached the owner and rented one of the units. Around three months ago, the suspect began causing problems by pestering hotel residents and workers. BKM/ Expat Media
