An Asian man has been arrested in Sharjah after authorities discovered he had turned his residence into a small illegal factory for filling vape cartridges with narcotic substances and distributing them as regular electronic cigarettes. Sharjah Police announced the arrest on Tuesday (April 28), saying the operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Department following intensive surveillance and monitoring. Investigators confirmed that the suspect was in possession of illegal substances intended for distribution and had been using a sophisticated method to package and promote drugs through e-cigarettes. According to police, the man had converted his home into a mini production facility where he manually filled vape cartridges with narcotic substances before packaging them to resemble normal commercial vaping products. During the raid, officers seized ready-to-distribute electronic cigarettes along with equipment and tools used in the filling and packaging process. Brigadier Majid Sultan Al Asam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, said the case showed how traffickers are constantly changing their methods to target victims, particularly young people. Investigations revealed “a sophisticated method of trafficking” in which the suspect disguised narcotic substances inside e-cigarette cartridges to avoid suspicion, he said. Brigadier Al Asam said anti-drug operations are carried out through precise surveillance, intelligence-gathering and coordination to ensure offenders are caught quickly.
