Man averts disaster after crashed car catches fire in Abu Dhabi

DUBAI – A man was caught on video saving the day after a car that crashed on a busy road in Abu Dhabi burst into flames on Sunday (May 10). Witnesses said the incident happened after two cars had a collision on Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street on Sunday morning. One of the cars caught fire near the driver’s seat, but luckily the driver had escaped unharmed. A motorist wearing a khandoura stepped in to help, bravely walking towards the car after borrowing a fire extinguisher from a minibus driver. He tried to douse the flames with the extinguisher but it appeared it did not have enough pressure to control the blaze. He leaves and quickly comes back with another fire extinguisher that finally extinguished the fire. No one was reported hurt in the incident. ICA/Expat Media
