Man dies after swimming in Ajman beach

  AJMAN – A man died after swimming in the waters off Ajman cornice, the Ajman Civil Defence said. A lifeguard stationed at the beach noticed the victim struggling to swim and rescued him during the incident on Friday. The man was pulled out of the water and rushed to the hospital, however, he died on the way there, police said. Police did not release details about the man’s identity. The police have often warned the public about the dangers of swimming in the open beach. Last year, three men were rescued from drowning at a beach in Ajman. The emirate reported one death and 12 drowning cases in that period. To help in rescue efforts, the Ajman Civil Defence last year launched a unique drone equipped with four safety tubes to locate and rescue people from drowning.
