An Asian national in Dubai has been sentenced to three months in jail followed by deportation for violently assaulting his wife, leaving her with a permanent disability. The Dubai Criminal Court issued its verdict in absentia, citing the seriousness of the assault. The incident occurred in July 2024 when a heated argument between the couple escalated while driving along Sheikh Zayed Road. According to court records, the husband twisted his wife's left hand forcefully and pushed her out of the vehicle. The victim sought immediate medical attention and filed a police report. Hospital documents revealed a broken hand that required surgical intervention, including the insertion of a metal plate and screws. The injury was classified as a 3 percent permanent disability. The husband admitted to the assault during police interrogations but later denied the allegations in court.
