Man jumps to death from Al Barsha building

  DUBAI – A man who was locked up by two men inside his own residence has jumped off the window of the fifth floor apartment in an Al Barsha building. The Dubai Public Prosecution on Sunday (August 28) charged the two men of locking up the victim. The court also charged the building watchman for helping the duo detain the victim. The duo alleged in court that the victim owed them money after he bought mobile phones from them using a cheque that later bounced. The duo allegedly called the victim several times to demand for payment. They also visited his apartment but were not allowed inside. On February 8, they allegedly sought the help of the watchman to trick the victim into opening the door by making the watchman ring the doorbell. When the victim opened the door, the duo rushed inside. The trio allegedly had a heated discussion inside the apartment, which prompted the two men to lock the victim inside the apartment, while one of them waited outside and another headed to the ground floor to call the police. It was then when they found out that the man had escaped through the window of his apartment and had fallen to his death.
