Deportation for man who secretly filmed Karama couple

A man who secretly filmed a couple in their Karama apartment will be deported from Dubai after completing his two-month jail term. The Dubai Criminal Court found the man guilty of breaching the couple’s privacy after he took a video of them through a hole in the wall. The court did not release details about the man's name or nationality. The man and the couple were living in the same apartment, and their rooms were separated by a wooden partition. During interrogation, the man admitted to recording the couple for 25 seconds. The husband said he noticed somebody filming him and his wife as they stayed in their room. “I was shocked when I noticed he was recording us on his mobile phone through a hole in the wall,” he told the court. He reported the incident to the police, who arrived at the apartment and arrested the man who admitted to secretly filming the couple. Police seized his phone as evidence.
