A man upset over an eight-year-old’s noise fatally shot the young girl in the head while riding a scooter in Chicago. Prior to the shooting, the gunman had complained about the noise, according to Megan Kelley, a neighbor. “Everybody in the community would just tell him they are just kids having fun playing, just let them be,” Kelley added. The shooting happened on Saturday night in Chicago's Portage Park neighbourhood, leading to a police presence at the suspect's apartment building for investigation. After the shooting, the girl's father wrestled the gunman down and shot him during the struggle. The gunman sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital. Stuffed animals and sunflowers were placed near the shooting scene, in memory of the young victim.
