Man wins Dh7 million in UAE with ticket matching son's birthday

  DUBAI - An Indian expatriate has hit the Dh7 million jackpot in an Abu Dhabi raffle draw with a ticket that he picked matching his son's birthday. Anil Varghese Theveril, a Kuwait-based executive assistant, said his "lucky charm" is his only son, Rahul, for winning the Big Ticket draw in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. Theveril bought the number 11197 online to match his son's birthday of 11/97, The 50-year-old expatriate said this was the second time he purchased a ticket. "I never expected to win," he said in an interview. He has been working in Kuwait in the last 20 years. His son, 21, is studying in Kerala, India. Theveril said he has yet to figure out what to do with his cash prize.
