Manny Pacquiao’s eight-day whirlwind visit in Dubai showcased his love for sports, community, and future aspirations. On Thursday (December 5), the Filipino boxing icon attended the official weigh in ceremony for the IBA Champions' Night at the Address Dubai Mall Hotel. He was expected to fly back to the Philippines later on Thursday. Arriving on November 28, the Filipino boxing icon made his mark with a jam-packed itinerary throughout the UAE’s 52nd National Day holidays. Pacquiao made the Jumeirah Beach Hotel his home base during his Dubai trip and was spotted enjoying the hotel’s surprise cake in his suite, restaurant dates with his wife, as well as views of Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Arab.
On November 29, Pacquiao connected with fans during a meet-and-greet at Global Village. In a notable announcement, he revealed plans to open the Manny Pacquiao Sports Academy in Dubai by early 2025. Initially focusing on boxing, basketball, and fitness, the academy promises to expand into other sports.
His basketball enthusiasm shone on December 2, when he faced Dubai’s celebrity radio host Kris Fade in an exhibition game at Al Nasr Club, with his Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) headlining the event.
On December 3, Pacquiao appeared at the Winter Night Market near Al Ghurair Centre in Al Rigga. Surrounded by fans, he emphasized his commitment to empowering the overseas Filipino community.
