Marco Daniel Restaurant & Café has opened a new branch in Abu Dhabi, expanding its presence in the UAE capital less than a year after launching its flagship restaurant. The new outlet is located on the third floor of Pinoy Mart Food Court in Hamdan Centre and introduces a three-in-one dining concept that combines Marco Daniel Restaurant & Café, Maria Paz Pastry & Café and Hungry Potato under one roof. The expansion comes as the Filipino-owned restaurant continues to attract a growing customer base with its selection of Filipino comfort food and regional specialties. According to owners AJ and Jhen Linao, the new branch aims to provide diners with a wider range of food options while bringing together several concepts in a single location. Visitors can choose from traditional Filipino dishes, freshly baked pastries, desserts, snacks and loaded potato offerings.

Filipino cuisine at the forefront

Marco Daniel Restaurant & Café first opened in Abu Dhabi in August 2025 and quickly gained popularity among Filipino residents and diners from other nationalities. The restaurant's growing popularity prompted the couple to expand operations and establish a second location to accommodate increasing demand. The original branch on Khalidiya Street remains operational and continues to offer dine-in, takeaway and delivery services. The restaurant's menu focuses on Filipino cuisine, including dishes inspired by the owners' hometown in Quezon province. Among its signature offerings are Pancit Chami, Pancit Habhab and Hardinera, alongside popular Filipino favourites such as bulalo, bihon, pancit canton and Batangas-style lomi. “The concept is traditional Filipino cuisine for OFWs who are here abroad,” AJ Linao told Expat Media. The restaurant has also attracted a diverse customer base that includes diners from Japan, Africa, Europe, the Arab world and the United States. “They leave good feedback about our food,” AJ said. “It’s great to hear them say they love Filipino cuisine.” The new Hamdan Centre branch combines three food brands in one location. Marco Daniel Restaurant & Café serves Filipino meals and comfort food, while Maria Paz Pastry & Café offers baked goods, desserts and sweet treats. Hungry Potato specialises in loaded potato dishes and snack options. The restaurant operates daily from 2pm to 11pm. The Linaos said they hope the new location will provide more residents and visitors with easy access to Filipino cuisine and a welcoming dining experience. The flagship branch remains open on Khalidiya Street behind Shining Tower from 7am to 12:45am daily.
