Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings, co-stars in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry And The Breadwinner Is, appeared to have opted out of the movie's grand media day scheduled for December 5. A social media poster by Star Cinema did not mention the duo as part of the media day. Their absence follows an explosive social media scandal involving allegations of infidelity that have gripped public attention. The controversy began when Jennings’ ex-girlfriend, Jamela Villanueva, shared Instagram Stories on Tuesday night (December 3), accusing Jennings of cheating on her with Racal. The posts included screenshots of intimate conversations between the two actors. “When Maris came into the picture, I was genuinely happy for you both,” Villanueva wrote. “But betrayal like this cuts deep.” She also alleged that Jennings used method acting as a justification for his close interactions with Racal, including a purported incident during a film shoot where boundaries were crossed. Villanueva, Jennings’ partner of seven years, detailed how she supported his career despite “red flags.” However, she ended their relationship in October after discovering more evidence of infidelity, including Jennings allegedly visiting Racal’s home and lying about his whereabouts. Villanueva’s emotional posts were widely shared and have sparked debates online. “This is the other side of the story,” she said. “Sharing my truth isn't just about my own healing—it’s about empowering others.” The controversy has put Racal and Jennings, known collectively as the "MaThon" love team, under intense scrutiny. Neither the actors nor their management, Star Magic, has addressed the allegations.
